Pastor Palitha works in the small town of Morawaka in the Matara district of Sri Lanka. He faces severe persecution when he preaches the gospel in this region. There has even been a lawsuit against him, which is still pending.
But God’s work continues unhindered, says Anita Washington, senior project manager at the GO Movement. The young people of the area approached him to tell him about their problem with organizing a volleyball tournament in their village. Pastor Palitha saw a great opportunity to spread the gospel through sports. “Kingdom Vision,” a partner of the GO Movement, helped them by providing them with a volleyball and a net. Now it is planned to hold these kinds of events in many more villages, thereby paving the way for the spread of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
